adjudication
We have two specialist dance adjudicators available to adjudicate national competitions wherever in New Zealand you are. The Friday Company adjudicators pride ourselves on our experience, comprehensive technical expertise, fast, positive, full reports and up-to-date genre and industry knowledge.
Brigitte Knight has over fifteen years adjudication experience, visiting dancing societies from Whangarei to Invercargill, Greymouth to Gisbourne (and almost everywhere in between). She is highly proficient in adjudicating ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, barefoot, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, national character, demi character, troupes, acro, and impromptu dance. She is experienced in both classical and modern PACANZ nominations, and was pleased to nominate 2015 PACANZ winner Ngaere Jenkins. Brigitte enjoys mentoring new adjudicators, aiming for consistency, expertise, transparency, and fairness of adjudication at every competition. She maintains a personal goal of making eye-contact with, and smiling at every single competitor she has the pleasure of adjudicating.

Bex Hale is in her sixth year of adjudicating, and brings a fresh eye and a wealth of experience as a QUT Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance (Distinction) graduate. Since returning to New Zealand, Bex has enjoyed adjudicating in Central Auckland, West Auckland, Wellington, Lower Hutt, Taupō and Alexandra. She is proficient in adjudicating ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, barefoot, musical theatre, demi character and impromptu dance. Having spent more than ten years competing throughout the North Island, Bex enjoys the opportunity to share the wealth of knowledge she acquired with the next generation of aspiring Kiwi dancers.

feedback
"It is the Associated Ballet & Theatre Club Inc. (ABTC) pleasure to recommend Brigitte Knight as dance adjudicator. Brigitte adjudicated for us across multiple genres (tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, ballet), giving valuable feedback to our entrants. Her in-depth knowledge across all dance forms have been welcomed by our patrons and dance teachers.
As a committee, we have appreciated her punctuality, detailed reports and welcoming nature to the competitors. We run tightly packed competition events, with some very large classes, requiring promptness by our adjudicators. Brigitte somehow manages to stick to our timing requirements, whilst providing valuable and fair feedback to competitors.
Brigitte has our highest recommendation as adjudicator – she is a pleasure to work with, whilst always remaining professional, fair and true to the art-form."
